Stoves!!!!!?

I have a gas stove but it wont turn on with out matches. im scared of striking matches wut should i do

1. is this a gas cook stove? if so some of the newer ones are "electronic ignition" they have to have power, 120volts, there should be a cord in back, just plug it in to a wall outlet and you should be in business. even newer heating stoves may have electronic ignition. hope this helps. good luck.
2. buy a grill match, the type that uses propane, its like a lighter, the stove either has pilot lights, or electric ignition, look at the front of the stove, there's a seam lift the top at this seam, the top should lift up, find the pilot lights and light them, or look in the back is there a plug cord ? plug it in,
3. call your local gas company to have your stove completely serviced
4. lift the stove top/ check inbetween the front and rear burner. There should be a (pod) which would hold a standing pilot. You may have spilled something or over-ran something to knock pilot out
